Sippy Cups, Chocolate, and Christmas

Well friends, December has been an eventful month. The first couple weeks were quiet and then one day mid month our girl decided she was a big girl and could drink out of a sippy cup. We'd been trying to encourage cup drinking for a couple of months. She had the lift and tip, but not the sip down. Finally one day when we had put the formula in the cup and didn't feel like trying to wash cup and bottle Heather held her like she was giving her a bottle and she figured out the sip of the cup. Within a couple of days she was able to put all the pieces together and now she drinks out of the sippy cup all of the time.

Top teeth... Carolyn now has three teeth and a fourth should be in any day. It looks pretty silly right now, because it makes her smile off centered.

Next came the week of Christmas. We went to Delaware to celebrate with Scott's family for an overnight the weekend before. Then on Tuesday the 23rd Scott had one last day of work and Carolyn went to the office with Heather. Heather had packed a morning snack which included a baggie with a couple of little turtles (a pretzel with a rolo and a pecan that had been melted in the oven and then squished to make a little candy). The snack was in Heather's purse which was next to her desk. Carolyn upon arrival at the office was placed in her bouncer because it was nap time. Heather went to check-in with her secretary. A few minutes later Heather came back to find this:

You guessed it Carolyn had her first taste of Chocolate. Momma didn't know whether to laugh (at the cuteness), cry (at the mess), or screem (because she had chocolate). We survived, got cleaned up and put in a new outfit.

That Evening Carolyn made her dramatic debut. She played baby Jesus in the church's live nativity. She handled it all great, but when we were done she was definitely ready to be done.

Next came Christmas which was a quiet day at home with Heather's parents, brothers, and sister-in-law.

Hope you are all having a wonderful 12 Days of Christmas.
