we made a trial run of getting us all up and out of the house for church. We made the attempt especially because it was Easter Sunday. For those who might not know Heather pastors two churches and we hadn't been trying to get up for church because two church services would wear us out too much and we didn't want to do one church and not the other so as not to play favorites and we were trying to limit the amount of germ exposure for Carolyn. So for Easter Sunday we got up and made it to both churches. Folks seemed glad to see "Pastor Heather", but really excited to meet Carolyn.
This weekend brought some excitement in development with Carolyn as well. Friday morning and then again Saturday she rolled over from her tummy to her back. Developmentally its a little early, so it was probably a fluke, but it was still pretty exciting. She also has been holding onto the bottle while we feed her, but in Saturday while Scott was feeding her, she got her hands placed just right to balance to bottle without Daddy also holding it.
Mommy sort of spoiled Carolyn with some toys in her Easter basket all small and developmental, except for the Eeyore Easter Bunny that is about the same size as Carolyn. The basket is very special. Heather's mom had made Easter baskets for Heather and her brothers when they were little, so Heather asked her mom to make one for Carolyn. It's a very deep mauve color.
Yesterday also brought a milestone in Heather's life. She turned 30. After a week of saying she wasn't ready and she didn't want her birthday to come, she woke up and the day was here. Scott kept telling her that it felt the same as 29 and later in the day Scott asked Heather how she felt and she said "the same as I did yesterday". Scott said, "I told you so". So now Heather has officially been alive three decades, she is 30, and she's no worse for the wear.
We are all doing well, and enjoying the first days of spring and our time as a family.
