Time Flies...

Time flies when you're having fun, which we certainly have been having. Three months ago today we brought home our peanut. She is fabulous and we swear she grows everyday. Carolyn went to her first movie on Friday, sort of a little celebration for us as we celebrated her being with us for three months. She did fabulous, wanted to watch and be a part and got upset when she was set in her carrier which was facing backwards in the seat.
New things happen everyday. For the last couple of nights Carolyn has been making the transition from sleeping in a bassinet in our room to sleeping in her "big girl" bed, the crib in her nursery. She has done fabulous and her sleeping patterns haven't changed which was our biggest fear in making this transition. She goes down every night with a Fisher-Price fish/aquarium making water noises and one of a couple of lullaby CD's playing. Her favorite on is a Celtic lullaby CD by Shelia Walsh (a Christian singer).
Carolyn is still not rolling over, but each day during playtime on the floor she does all kinds of things that are precursors. We know its a matter of it happening any day now.

Carolyn is learning early about actively being part of her community and helping
the world. A few weeks ago she went with Heather to "Mission Central". It is a local gathering place developed by the Central Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church for preparing various items for mission locally and throughout the world. Work done there includes sorting clothes that go all over the world, packing and verifying various kits (flood, health, school, layette, sewing) that go to people to help in times of need such as after a hurricane or a flood, some were sent to Southeast Asia after the tsunami in 2004. You name it it happens at Mission Central. We think that at 2 months, Carolyn was probably their youngest volunteer ever, though she mostly slept while mommy helped sort clothes. Today she walked with Scott and Heather and some folks from Scott's work in "March for Babies" to raise money for the March of Dimes who work with families of premature babies. It was a great day, a little brisk and damp, but it felt good to walk for such a worthy cause. We made it the whole way through the five mile stretch, only getting pooped at about 4.5 miles. Carolyn was a trooper, she slept a little in her stroller and if the sidewalks hadn't been so bumpy she would have slept more.

We just keep having more and more fun with our girl. It is so much fun to see her grow and explore her world. We introduced a new toy this week, a soft doll baby who has ivy on her outfit. We think baby doll's name will be Ivy. Carolyn seemed to enjoy getting to know her yesterday while momma and daddy did some spring cleaning around the house.

It is such an amazing joy to have our beautiful daughter in our lives. We grow to love her more and more everyday. We are definitely lucky to have her. Hope she feels the same about us.
